Renesas' radiation hardened plastic package power management ICs (PMICs) are designed to power and support applications where high-reliability screening and radiation assurance are required, but for a smaller PCB footprint. These include mission critical applications and may be at Low Earth Orbit (LEO), Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) or Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) altitudes. This includes traditional satellites looking to save PCB area in their designs, or even small satellites intended for GEO operation. These products are also ideal for LEO small sat and constellation mission critical applications.

Renesas’ rad hard plastic package power management IC technology includes switching regulators, Gallium Nitride (GaN) FETs with integrated low-side driver.
