US159-DA14531EVZ Firmware Upgrade
Overview
This document describes how to upgrade the firmware in the Renesas US159-DA14531EVZ Pmod™.
Procedure
The DA14531 Pmod board provides a 9-pin SWD connector marked J2 for Cortex-M debug. Serial wire debug is achieved using SWDIO and SWCLK to connect related pins of J-Link.
1- Connect J2 on DA14531 PMOD board to connector of the J-Link debugger/programmer.
Note
Considering that the RESET pin of DA14531 using an active high, contrary to an active low signal for J-Link, do not connect pin 10 of J2 to nRESET of J-Link.

2- Open the Renesas SmartBond™ Flash Programmer. If the JTAG device is “Undetected” automatically, click “Undetected” and select DA14531.

3- Check the selected JTAG device. Then, click Search Online to select the binary file you want to program into the DA15431. The binary to be programmed can be selected from the online resources available via the tool.

The binary can be selected also from the PC, user can click to Browse.
4- After programming, disconnect the board from the PC.
