To this end, we are working to create sustainable value together with local communities through environmental conservation, contributions to society, and the development of next-generation talent. Employees at each site take the initiative in participating in activities tailored to local needs, thereby contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.
The Three Focus Social Contribution Initiative Areas
1. Environmental Initiatives
Participation in Urban Greening Activities in Ukraine
As part of our efforts to coexist with local communities and contribute to environmental conservation, we participated in the “Give a Tree to the City – Autumn 2025” initiative. Through this program, we took part in a city-led greening activity and supported environmental improvements at Hidnosti Square (Dignity Square). Employees worked together to plant shrubs, contributing to the greening of urban spaces and the enhancement of the local landscape.
Coastal Cleanup Activity
Renesas Oita Factory participated in a cleanup activity at Oshide Beach as part of its efforts to preserve the local environment and contribute to the community. Employees, partner companies, and family members took part in the activity. Through this initiative, participants reaffirmed the importance of marine environmental conservation and shared the significance of working together with the local community to protect the environment.
2. Contributions to Local Communities
Blood Donation Program in Vietnam
As part of its social contribution activities, Renesas Vietnam held its 15th blood donation program on September 17, 2025. A total of 135 employees participated, donating 47,950 ml of blood. This long-running program supports local healthcare services and contributes to the well-being of the community.
Book Donation Activity at the Suzhou Factory
As an employee-participation social contribution activity, Renesas Suzhou Factory held a book donation event under the theme “Exchange Books for Vegetables” during Family Day on July 26, 2025. A total of 36 employee families participated, donating 150 books. The donated books were delivered through official channels to elementary schools in underserved areas of Guizhou Province, China.
3. Educational Support for Developing Next-Generation Engineers
Programming Class for Elementary School Students
In July 2025, Renesas held a programming class for elementary school students at an elementary school in Tokyo. Using the RL78/G23 Fast Prototyping Board, students experienced the basics of making things with microcontrollers through hands-on activities such as lighting LEDs and playing melodies. The participating students showed strong interest in microcontroller technology, which many of them were experiencing for the first time, and became more motivated to pursue further learning in areas such as programming and robot development.
STEM Education Support Activity at the Beijing Factory
As part of its social contribution activities, Renesas Beijing Factory held a STEM education program for children in September 2025. The program aimed to nurture the next generation and promote diversity in STEM fields, and was conducted in collaboration with Renesas WIT ERG and High-Tech High Heels. Through hands-on learning, the program fostered children’s interest in science and technology. The participation of female engineers also provided an opportunity to broaden children’s perspectives on future career.
