The ZSSC4160KIT Evaluation Kit provides the hardware needed for configuration, calibration and evaluation of the ZSSC4161, ZSSC4162, ZSSC4165 and ZSSC4169 Sensor Signal Conditioner (SSC) ICs. The user's PC can communicate with the ZSSC4160 IC mounted on the ZSSC4160 SSC Evaluation Board via the SSC Communication Board through a USB connection. The Evaluation Kit Software is available on-line for free download.
The Evaluation Board can connect to the user's sensor or to the SSC Sensor Replacement Board (SRB). The SRB provides a replacement for an actual sensor and can be used for the first step of calibration or a dry-run calibration. On the SRB, the simulated resistive sensor signal is controlled by a potentiometer. The kit also includes ta small populated test PCB, 10 QFN samples and the required external components already mounted for facilitating user prototypes.

Modern vehicles are filled with complex sensor systems to achieve optimal performance and lower emissions. IDT's (acquired by Renesas) ZSSC416x and ZSSC417x family of sensor signal conditioner ICs are ideal for use in the engine and exhaust system. Sensing differential pressure at the mass airflow intake using a single IC attached to two sensors lowers power consumption and improves accuracy compared to traditional sensing systems.
