This demonstration shows hands-on/off detection (HOD) and steering wheel touch switch operation using the RL78/F25’s capacitive touch function (CTSU2SLa). With the capacitive touch function, a single MCU controls the HOD, direction indicators, and steering wheel touch switch functions. In addition, by combining Renesas LDO, IPD, IPS, and haptic drivers, steering wheel position detection, heater control, and vibration-based haptic feedback are enabled.
